Winning Odds

Roulette is one casino game that heavily relies on chance. There are certain bets that will greatly increase your chances of winning though. The odds of winning in roulette are greatly determined by the bets you place. It is no surprise that some bets are better than others. Here we will go over some odds around the roulette wheel that will highlight ways to win more with the bets you place, on certain wheels. We all know that there are two different types of roulette wheels, so we will be sure to differentiate between the wheels, and the bets that go along with the wheels.

The European wheel lacks the double zero that the American wheel has. This greatly influences the odds between each wheel. What this means is when placing a single number bet you will have a 2.7% chance of winning on the European wheel and a 2.63% chance of winning on the American wheel. Both of these odds aren’t that attractive, that is what makes this bet the worst one when it comes to roulette. But rest assured, there are some bets in roulette that are very attractive for your wallet.

The bet carrying the best probability in American and European Roulette is the outside bet. These are bets on either all red, black, even, or odd. This bet has 48.65% odds on the European wheel, and 47.27% odds on the American wheel. I would say these are pretty great odds of winning.

The second best bet on the roulette wheel is the column bet. The odds that go along with the column bet are 32.43% with the European variety, and 31.58% with the American.

Although it does not carry the best odds, the split bet is the second most popular bet, behind the single number bet. The split bet has a 5.41% edge in European Roulette and a 5.26% edge in American Roulette.

As a player, your best odds are going to fall in the category of an outside bet, column bet, or even the corner bet which pays 8:1 if you want to take a gamble every once in a while.
